Summary
Equans is looking for a Project Director to join the team covering the Midlands and the South of England on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. As a Project Director, you will develop, track, and evaluate programmes to help achieve goals and objectives of the Central & Southwest business unit. The role will require oversight of a strong pipeline of Projects as well as delivery of Lifecycle works across a number of PFI contracts across the region. You will lead from a policy and process perspective a large and diverse team of operational project managers, technical, support staff, and contractors, both directly and indirectly, the majority of Project Managers will report in to senior members of staff on the contracts however you will be responsible for the larger projects and ensuring consistency of delivery in line with central PMO processes . You alsocreate and manage complex budgets and business plans relating to project development and Lifecycle. Your experience will include providing strategic, technical, operational, commercial, financial, and managerial leadership to implement project delivery successfully. As a director, you have a background of conducting regular reviews to ensure all project activities are accountable, accurate, and meet financial deliverables, obligations and key performance metrics, specifically in relation to Health and Safety. The post holder will be responsible for delivering and securing projects at an annual value of circa £20m p.a. and Minor Works at circa £20m p.a. The aspiration of the business is to grow the turnover in these areas, whilst positively contributing to our Net Margin goals. In this role, you will demonstrate your ability to direct an over-arching programme of projects and understand expectations from the company and other stakeholders. You also develop strategies to ensure you meet goals using set resources. Qualifications support the responsibilities of directing several concurrently programmed projects, in different geographic locations, across several clients, with a variety of different contracting methods, and involving a variety of employees and leaders. What will you deliver? The primary duties of a Project Director in the comprehensive development and management of project scopes, timelines, and budgets, ensuring each facet adheres to the agreed-upon parameters. Specific tasks involve:Overseeing the overall management and performance of major projects and lifecycle works including feasibility reports, funding applications, planning, design, construction, programme and commercial controls / monitoring, ensuring each project is delivered to time, budget and specificationEnsuring all Health and Safety metrics are achieved and to lead on a culture of behavioural safety across the delivery unitAdherence with legislation CDM Regulations 2015 and Building Safety Act 2022Adherence with contractual obligations applicable to each project, appreciating the obligations will differ from project to projectEffectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashionBuilding and sustaining an integrated, collaborative and high performance team that anticipates and responds to the needs of the organisation and key stakeholdersProviding the leadership and strategic direction to the project in line with the Equans ethos, methods of working and best practiceLiaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basisFostering and maintaining positive relationships with key client stakeholdersEstimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goalsDraft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessaryDelegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel in the teamPlan, schedule and manage project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools, including all internal governance and project sign-offDevelop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentationsProactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risk, and devise mitigation measuresCoach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractorsWhat can we offer you? A Master’s degree is preferredAccreditation to relevant professional institute is preferredAt least 10 years of experience in project management, with a proven track record of successful project delivery in the Construction industryPrevious experience in a similar rolePrevious experience within the FM industryPrevious experience in PFIFinancial acumenThis role includes a DBS Enhanced check therefore ability to pass is essential.
