Both Job Holders will be expected to:

Oversee financial planning, analysis, and reporting, providing high-quality insight and challenge to support evidence-based decision making.
Ensure robust financial controls, compliance with Managing Public Money, and effective risk management.
Build and lead a high-performing, inclusive finance team, promoting professional development and a collaborative culture.
In addition, each role will have the following responsibilities:

Strategic Finance Director

Act as principal financial advisor to Ministers, the Principal Accounting Officer (Permanent Secretary), Executive Committee and senior leaders on all strategic financial matters, including resource allocation.
Lead the development and delivery of the Home Office’s financial strategy, ensuring alignment with departmental and government priorities.
Lead engagement with HM Treasury and represent the department at cross-government finance forums.
Finance Director, Business Partnering

Act as the primary finance liaison for Directors-General and business units across the organisation.
Lead the Finance function’s business partner model, fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders within a complex, politically sensitive environment.
Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and business partnering, maximising the impact of finance across the department.
