Your Role:As Commercial Manager, reporting to the Commercial Director you will play a pivotal role in the commercial strategy of our growing organisation. The role will include business development, partnerships, and growth initiatives - driving revenue while staying true to our values of integrity, sustainability, and patient-first care.To contribute to the development of sustainable commercial strategies and business plans to accelerate company growth.Identify and analyse commercial opportunities including new contract opportunities as well as mergers and acquisitions.To ensure that clear, accurate and relevant information is available to the Board on a timely basis.Build and develop working relationships with external stakeholders in a bid to generate new business opportunities for the Company.To ensure that the Company is well prepared to be successful in local government contract tender processes having built relationships with relevant stakeholders and having an understanding of their needs.To carry out market research and competitor analysis to identify new trends and needs, understand threats and inform strategic decisions.To support negotiations for significant contracts with customers and commissioners.<u>Practice Expectations</u>Regularly reviewing market demographic information, competitor analysis and fee benchmarking across the regions that we operate within and formulating strategies to improve our market position.To have a detailed understanding of the care sector challenges as well as being up to date with regional health and social care agendas and strategies.Building relationships with decision makers - head of brokerage, head of commissioning, transfers of care teams to maximise new contract opportunities.Having an understanding of the Company’s brand, values and strategy and being able to articulate this to contract partner commissioners and also target partner commissioners.To review and shortlist relevant acquisition opportunities for the Company’s Board to consider having assessed and scored the opportunity by reference to the Company’s key acquisition metrics.Actively contribute to the writing of local government tender responses and being confident in presenting as part of tender processes.Engaging with the wider operational support teams to ensure tender responses are cohesive and compelling to maximise the chances of success in addition to identifying any issues that may impact the overall tender process early in the process.Be involved in the maintenance of the database of contacts of Stakeholders including Directors of CCGs, Health Boards, specialist commissioners Local Authorities, Housing AssociationsAssisting with ensuring the efficient transfer of services out of Shaw following the end of a contract/sale of a service.<u>Relationships</u>Working with home managers, operations managers and regional directors to further develop relationships with key stakeholders within local authorities and ICBs.To maintain strong relationships with existing contract partners and widen the exposure to Shaw within these organisations.To establish good relationships with potential stakeholders with whom Shaw healthcare would like to work with in the future.Develop strong links with key head office department colleagues to enable collaborative working on bids, tenders and acquisitions.Essential CriteriaKnowledge of the care sector and how LAs/ICB procure contractsExtensive experience in a commercial management roleEffective written and verbal communication skills Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and be confident in presenting proposalsHigh attention to detail and ability to review commissioning contractsProven record of being able to prioritise work in an environment which has conflicting pressures and demandsStrong negotiation and stakeholder management skills to secure contractsBe approachable, responsive and proactiveValid driving license and use of own car for work purposes Desirable CriteriaPrevious experience of contract negotiation in a care sector settingRelevant qualifications in bid writing and project managementExperience of commissioning portals and application processes
