Personal Assistant (PA) Job Description
Role Purpose
To provide tailored support that enables the employer to live independently, maintain dignity, and achieve personal and professional goals. The PA works closely with the employer to ensure daily needs, accessibility, and chosen lifestyle are respected.
Key Responsibilities
• ✅ Assist with daily living tasks (e.g., meal preparation, household management.
• ✅ Provide mobility and accessibility support (accompanying to appointments, ensuring safe walking)
• ✅ Support with administrative tasks (e.g., correspondence, scheduling, record-keeping)
• ✅ Facilitate social and community engagement (e.g., attending events, supporting hobbies, advocacy activities)
• ✅ Respect confidentiality, boundaries, and the employer’s autonomy
• ✅ Adapt support to neurodiversity-informed and disability-aware practices
Skills & Qualities
• Empathy, patience, and professionalism
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Reliability and flexibility to adapt to changing needs
• Awareness of disability rights, accessibility, and equality principles
• Ability to work independently while respecting employer direction
The position is 4 hours a week and I do have extra hours spare for extra when needed ie a day of cleaning or I want to go out for a day that has been preplanned.
