We’re looking for a Deputy who is both a natural leader and a nurturer — someone just as comfortable mentoring staff as they are singing with toddlers or planning activities for preschoolers. This is a hands-on leadership role, where you will be visible across the nursery every day, providing consistent support to help create the conditions for high-quality learning and development for both the team and the children.
You will work closely with the Nursery Manager to:
Lead and inspire a team of passionate educators
Coach, mentor, and support staff through high-quality interactions and reflective practice
Contribute to our child-led, curiosity-inspired curriculum, underpinned by the EYFS
Promote a culture of openness, growth, and professional accountability
Ensure safeguarding, wellbeing, and compliance remain central to daily practice
Confidently step into the Manager’s role when required
Who are we looking for?
A Level 3 childcare qualification or above (required)
No sponsorship provided — applicants must have the right to work in the UK
Experience as a Deputy Manager, Room Leader, or Third in Charge in a nursery setting
Passion for supporting children, families, and staff
Ability to thrive in a supportive, team-focused environment
Hands-on, energetic, and confident being actively involved on the floor
Enthusiasm for developing and supporting others in their professional growth
A positive, solutions-focused approach and ability to stay calm under pressure
Strong understanding of leadership, resilience, and accountability
Confident knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding procedures, and Ofsted requirements
