Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
Red House Academy are seeking to appoint a Head of Maths (September start), who will lead the department and drive our students and young people to achieve the best possible outcomes. As Head of Department you will be accountable for the quality of teaching and learning as well as overall student outcomes within Maths. You will be required to present information and report to the senior leadership team, parents and Academy Council members as and when requested. You will work closely with the relevant teachers within the Maths department to identify relevant department improvement issues, define and agree appropriate improvement targets and evaluate the impact of these on the quality of teaching and learning. Within the department you will line manage two classroom teachers, the second in department and a one-to-one tutor. The successful candidate will have experience of teaching across a range of age and ability using a variety of teaching styles and approaches.
