At Shevington High School, we are deeply committed to fostering a supportive learning environment where all students can succeed academically.

We are seeking a skilled and well-organised Senior Science Technician to join our team. Working closely with the Head of Faculty, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of our Science curriculum, ensuring that practical lessons run smoothly and that our laboratories remain safe, clean, and fully operational. You will also provide guidance and support to our other Science Technician(s).

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing equipment, materials, and chemicals for practical lessons, maintaining laboratory and prep spaces, and upholding all health and safety requirements. You will work directly to support teaching staff and help create high-quality practical learning experiences for students.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual with a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and a commitment to supporting scientific education. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively with both staff and students to ensure successful practical lessons.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical advice and support to teachers, other school staff, other technicians and students in meeting the practical needs of the curriculum.
  • Prepare for all practical Science lessons this may include practical examinations and assessments as stipulated by various syllabi.
  • Responsible for the servicing and maintenance of the school laboratories and the upkeep of the stock/prep room.
  • Support other Technician(s) within the team.
