Working Hours: 9 hours 15 minutes

Main Purpose of Job:
Senior Staff and Trustees invite applications from a dedicated and nurturing play worker to work in our before and after school club.
The main purpose of the job involves assisting with the operation of our before-school (where before school care is offered) and after school club in accordance with agreed policies.
This includes ensuring the provision of high quality childcare and appropriate play opportunities for all children attending the club and liaison with parents and other appropriate agencies.
Main Duties | |
Work under the direction of the club manager as part of a team to provide full good quality and safe care for children including meeting individual needs and supervision of activities. | |
To prepare and serve breakfast and snack for the children. | |
To provide good quality, creative, appropriate play opportunities in a safe and child centred environment. | |
To provide support and a safe and secure environment for children with additional needs, i.e. autism, ADHD or a physical disability, after appropriate training. | |
To liaise with parents, schools and other agencies in order to promote the club and ensure the children’s well-being. | |
To administer first aid when appropriately qualified as requested. | |
To ensure that premises and equipment are kept in a clean and safe condition and to be responsible for security when necessary, in line with Health and Safety Legislation. | |
To work within agreed policies and maintain good practice and to carry out all responsibilities within an equal opportunities framework. | |
To work flexibly including early mornings and afternoons. | |
To be friendly, caring, hardworking and supportive with high expectations. | |
To use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school’s policy and procedures. | |
To maintain confidentiality at all times. | |
To safeguard pupil’s wellbeing. | |
To escort pupils on foot between the Infant and Junior schools where before and after-school club provision is provided. | |
The post holder may reasonably be expected to undertake other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility that may be allocated, at the discretion of the Head Teacher and to meet the needs of the school.
