As a Consultant Urologist with a specialist interest in Gender Affirmation Surgery (GAS), the post-holderwill have demonstrated expertise in undertakingprimary and revisionfeminising genitourinary surgery, and be willing to grow our masculinising lower surgery programme, including the set-up and delivery of pedicled and free-flap phalloplasty. The post holder must be committed to research and innovation in the field of gender surgery.

The role will require close working with other colleagues in the Trust as well as allied organisations as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to quality improvement, research and management of the service. It is anticipated that the post-holder will engage in specific management tasks and contribute to service meetings as required.

The post holder will have the following duties:
• Deliver outpatient clinics, diagnostic procedures and theatre lists to support the service
• Attendance at MDT meetings
• Participation in audit, research and governance activities of the department
• Ensure compliance with national commissioning standards and waiting time targets
• Support subspecialisation in the department by appropriate cross referral to colleagues
• Provide consultant care at an early stage to patients presenting to secondary care with presumed urological complications of gender surgery
• Contribute to the routine care of GAS inpatients, rotating this responsibility with colleagues.
• To promote early and safe discharge of patients
• Strong commitment to the organisation and delivery of training
