Cannock Chase and Stafford Borough Council’s Waste and Commercial Services Section, based across both Cannock and Stafford sites, is looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic Waste & Recycling Officer, to develop and oversee Waste and Recycling functions, as part of a multi disciplined team.
You should have experience of working in a similar public or private sector environment, ideally in a waste and recycling environment. The successful candidate will have excellent literacy, numeracy and ICT skills sufficient to complete necessary electronic data recording, analysis and report writing.
You will have good interpersonal skills and will be able to work as part of a team as well as under your own initiative. The role will involve communicating with the public, Elected Members and other colleagues, electronically, over the phone and face to face. You must have a flexible approach to work and be prepared to provide technical support for the team.
You will ideally have relevant knowledge of the waste and recycling sector and must be prepared to work outdoors, at times in unfavourable conditions.
Membership of a relevant Professional Body (or be willing to work towards) is essential, such as CIWM or similar.
Access to a suitable means of transport, in order to access sites within the district is essential for this post.
