Job Overview:

Sandea Wholesale Ltd is seeking an experienced and highly organised Logistics and Warehouse Manager to oversee the end-to-end flow of goods, from inbound deliveries through storage to outbound distribution. The ideal candidate will manage warehouse operations, logistics planning, transport coordination, and inventory control, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and excellent service levels. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to optimise processes across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Warehouse Operations Management:
o Oversee daily warehouse activities, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and dispatch.
o Ensure all warehouse processes are carried out efficiently, safely, and accurately.
o Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all warehouse tasks.
o Monitor workflow and allocate resources to meet operational and customer demands.
2. Logistics & Transport Coordination:
o Plan and coordinate inbound and outbound deliveries with suppliers, carriers, and customers.
o Optimise delivery routes, schedules, and loads to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
o Liaise with transport providers and manage performance, service levels, and issues.
o Ensure on-time deliveries and resolve any delays or logistical challenges.
3. Inventory Control & Stock Management:
o Maintain accurate stock records and oversee regular stock counts and cycle checks.
o Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, damages, and losses.
o Work closely with buying and trading teams to forecast and plan optimal stock levels.
o Implement best practices to improve stock accuracy and stock rotation.


4. Health, Safety & Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, legal requirements, and company policies.
o Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and staff training.
o Promote a strong safety culture across warehouse and logistics operations.
o Ensure vehicles, equipment, and warehouse areas meet all safety and compliance standards.
5. Team Leadership & Development:
o Lead, supervise, and support warehouse and logistics staff, including supervisors and operatives.
o Set clear objectives, monitor performance, and conduct regular reviews.
o Identify training needs and support staff development to build a high-performing team.
o Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable working environment.
6. Process Improvement & Efficiency:
o Identify opportunities to streamline warehouse and logistics processes.
o Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
o Utilise systems and technology to optimise stock control, picking accuracy, and delivery planning.
o Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for warehouse and logistics operations.
7. Customer Service & Communication:
o Ensure high service levels and timely fulfilment of customer orders.
o Address and resolve any delivery, stock, or service-related queries.
o Communicate effectively with internal departments, suppliers, and customers regarding logistics and warehouse matters.
8. Planning & Support for Business Growth:
o Support the planning of seasonal peaks, promotions, and new product launches.
o Ensure warehouse and logistics capacity align with business growth and demand.
o Provide regular reports and insights to senior management on operational performance and improvement opportunities.
