FTE Salary: up to £39,495.00 (Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience)
Actual Salary: £31,596.00
Contract Type: Permanent, Part-Time
Working Hours: 29.6 hours per week

Inspire the Next Generation of Literary Thinkers
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Lecturer in A Level English Literature (AQA Specification) to join our successful Sixth Form team. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching and assessment, inspiring learners to explore literature deeply and develop critical thinking skills that prepare them for university and beyond.
The successful candidate will bring strong subject knowledge, enthusiasm for literature, and a commitment to outstanding teaching and learning. You will design and deliver engaging lessons that foster curiosity, challenge learners, and encourage interpretation and analysis of texts from diverse periods and genres. You will also contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement initiatives.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
-Teach and assess across A Level English Literature programmes
-Deliver inclusive, learner-centred lessons that promote stretch, challenge, and higher-order thinking
-Support learners academically and pastorally, including those with SEND and high needs
-Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement
-Embed contextual understanding and critical theory into teaching practice
-Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in literature and education
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
-Degree or higher qualification in English Literature or a closely related discipline
-Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one
-Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for literature
-Experience in curriculum design and quality assurance (desirable)
-Familiarity with digital learning platforms and blended delivery (desirable)
-Ability to inspire and motivate learners to achieve their full potential
