If you share our values this is a superb opportunity to join us as an Assistant Locality Manager in Taunton, providing day-to-day support to your Locality Manager, gaining expertise and experience both within the office and two homes where people we support live. Reporting to the Locality Manager you will lead by example and guide a team of up to 30 support colleagues (including Lead Support workers) who support 13 people to live the lives they want to.
You will be working across two homes where people we support live. 7 people live at one of the homes, but we are looking for a new housemate to join them, so we will be supporting 8 people there. In the other home there are currently 5 housemates you will be leading the support for. We support every individual to lead the life they want and achieve their goals following the active support model.
This role will give you the opportunity to develop your managerial skills as you will have 30 hours a week off rota to provide support to the Locality Manager with tasks including:
- Rota management, reviewing and updating support plans and assisting with the recruitment and development of a team of Support Workers.
- Working with relatives, healthcare professionals and external agencies to ensure that the needs and interests of the people we support are met and upheld.
As the people we support have complex healthcare needs, previous experience of this would be a bonus.
Some of the people we support world like you to know that they do not use words to communicate, however they have other ways of telling you what they want. They would also like to let you know that some of them use wheelchairs to mobilize.
Due to the locations the people we support live, it is essential that all candidates hold a full UK/EU Driving License and have a vehicle.
This is a full-time (37.5hrs) position working shifts between the hours of 07.00 (earliest start) and 22.00 (latest finish) when working on rota. There will also be an expectation for some weekend working & you may be required to work sleep-in shifts at one of the homes.
All Assistant Locality Managers must hold (or be prepared to undertake) an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care
The total salary for this role is £34,659.78. This is comprised of the base salary of £30,808.69 plus an allowance of £3851.09 (12.5%) for working 30 hours a week off rota.
