We are seeking to appoint a Security Support Officer to join the Estates department. As a successful and thriving Sixth Form College with around 3,800 students and 320 staff, we are seeking to appoint someone who can bring flexibility, commitment and energy to this important job. In return you will join a vibrant college community with an informal working environment. The College is an open and friendly place to work, with staff that are very supportive of each other, and a range of benefits offered to ensure health and well-being.
This is a new role which has been created in response to increased student numbers. This post will offer increased capacity in two significant areas in our busy Estates Department - to assist with the provision of security as well as carrying out general caretaking duties during the holiday periods. We are looking for a person who can assist with the provision of an effective and competent operational security service ensuring a safe and secure environment for staff, students, visitors and College assets, as well as someone who is able to assist with ad hoc maintenance requests. There may be occasions when you will be responsible for locking/unlocking the College site and activating/de-activating the intruder alarms, as required, consistent with the College’s business operations, including some weekend working.
Working pattern: Monday to Thursday 9am – 5pm, Friday 9am - 4:30pm (with 30min unpaid lunch break). Flexible for the right candidate.
