We are looking for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our friendly team on the world renowned St. Andrews Centre Burns Intensive Care Unit where we provide care to our patients, both Adults and Paediatrics, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.
Existing ward experience can be built upon and new knowledge and skills can be learned and developed. We offer structured support supervised by our clinical facilitation team and Senior Nursing Team. Clinical progression is encouraged within our intensive care unit by our large friendly multi-disciplinary team. Informal visits are encouraged and recommended.
You will be required to demonstrate compassion and empathy in your approach to caring and should have relevant experience of caring for others, either through previous employment, education and training or voluntary work.
Your role will involve the care and treatment of very complex Burns / Medical Skin Loss patients who require Intensive and High Dependency Nursing Care.
You will ensure the NMC code of conduct is at the forefront of the teams nursing care and will be required to work closely with the multi-disciplinary teams to provide a high standard of individualised patient care, ensuring the patient experience is the best it can be.
You will Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document holistic, high quality and individualised care, which respects patients’ personal dignity and beliefs whilst maintaining and promoting effective communication within the care team and with colleagues, patients, relatives and visitors.
Your role is to maintain a safe working environment for patients, visitors and staff, participate in educational and professional development programmes, upholding the philosophy of evidence-based practice and maintain a professional profile and develop skills, knowledge and competencies adhering to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct, Trust Policies and Procedures and local competency frameworks.
You will lead by example and embed the Trusts values and behaviour in all aspects of the clinical environment and be able to demonstrate continuing professional development, reflecting individual needs, those of the team and the organisation.
