Job Title: Drafter
Division: Dawson Downie Lamont Pumps and Spares
Hours of Work: Full-time: 37 hours Day Shift (some flexibility required)

Dawson Downie Lamont design and manufacture Reciprocating Pumps in accordance with API 674 Hydraulic Institute Standard for oil & gas, petrochemical and marine industries worldwide.
The company itself is over 100 years old and is also one of only a few companies worldwide that specialise in the manufacture of Direct Acting Steam / Gas Driven Reciprocating Pumps. We are very proud of who we are and our reputation worldwide.

Outline of Role
The successful candidate will need to be able to transform ideas, sketches, and specifications into detailed technical drawings and plans.
Responsibilities
• Reviewing existing Drawing/Documents and preparing technical drawings & Queries, transferring and updating this data into pro engineer format.
• Understanding and experience of Rotating Equipment, pumps and similar Equipment.
• Good understanding and experience in Technical Accreditations under API674 & the Hydraulic institute standards for oil and gas, petrochemical and marine industries.
• Experience in different engineering disciplines to ensure accurate & comprehensive engineering outcomes, status of activities and deliverables.
• Ability to communicate and discuss with colleagues and clients on technical drawing queries.
• Ability to extract BOM from drawing information.
• Assist in planning & execution of customer quotations to support direct sales activities, sales volumes, values, product mix within the agreed timescales.
• Generate ideas and create offers for sales and marketing to develop major accounts and new business prospects.
• Respond to and follow up all internal and client requests.
• Liaison with internal estimation and inter departmental staff when and where required.
• Developing long-term relationships with clients through managing and interpreting their requirements.
• Engaging with other members of the team to find a technical solution for our clients.
Required Skills and Experience
A successful candidate shall need to be able to demonstrate that they have the skills and experience to be:
• Candidate should have good experience in Auto CAD and pro engineer.
• Candidate should good knowledge of all material grades category wise (Plates, Pipes, Forgings, Flanges, Fittings, Fasteners, gaskets etc.)
• Candidate should be good in understanding drawing & preparing BOQ based on that.
• Candidate should have knowledge of NDT requirements
• Candidate must be able to interpret customer specifications provided by client.
• Software Knowledge (AutoCAD - MS Office: - Excel, word, PowerPoint - PDF editing)
