Summary
Are you driven to support young people’s mental health and make a real difference in their lives?
Loughborough College Group is looking for a dedicated Mental Health Coordinator to join our Learner Services team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver mental health support across the college, ensuring learners receive timely and effective interventions that promote emotional well-being and academic success.
In this role, you will work closely with learners, families, staff, and external agencies to provide one-to-one support and develop personalised transition plans. You’ll coordinate initiatives such as drop-in sessions, breakfast clubs, and mental health tutorials, while also delivering staff training and accredited Mental Health First Aid courses. As part of the safeguarding team, you will play a key role in supporting learners at risk and contributing to the college’s mental health strategy.
We are seeking someone with experience of working with young people aged 16–18 and supporting mental health needs such as anxiety, depression, and self-harm. Strong communication skills, knowledge of safeguarding legislation, and the ability to engage with diverse learners are essential. You should also be confident in planning and delivering targeted sessions and using IT systems effectively.
Applicants should hold GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade A–C or equivalent), a mental health qualification, and ideally a teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
