What skills and experience we're looking for
Candidates suitable for the role will:
• be confident in teaching Spanish to Key Stage 4 students. New teachers will be supported in developing the knowledge and skills necessary for teaching to A level over a period of time
• be confident in teaching to high achieving students
• be an excellent classroom practitioner
• be willing to use a range of strategies to teach across the ability range
• be passionate about personal and professional development and demonstrate a willingness to engage with the findings of evidence-based research through our whole school CPD programme
• help extend and enrich students’ school experiences beyond the curriculum
• have the ability to communicate effectively with staff, students and parents

Join our thriving Spanish department as a temporary Teacher of Spanish. We are looking for a knowledgeable professional who would relish the opportunity to inspire our highly motivated, engaged and hardworking student body. The school greatly values the unique contribution languages brings to our curriculum and to developing students’ cultural literacy and helping them flourish as global citizens.
Spanish is a popular subject choice at GCSE and A Level, with a number pursuing dual language GCSEs. Reflecting this engagement, our Spanish department supported the achievement of an extraordinary set of results in the summer with 85% of GCSE grades at 9-8, and 100% A*-A at A level. The department is ably supported by a specialist Foreign Language Assistant.
