Summary

Please note this is a fixed term position for 1 year. Working hours: 15 hours per week, (Flexible approach - Mon to Fri work pattern)Interview Date: Mid December 2025Job Summary:The Salvation Army, Rayleigh Corps, is looking to recruit a Community Mission Facilitator as part of our team. The overall aim of this role is to ensure the effective running of community & spiritual programmes within the Corps and local community.Key Responsibilities: A highly motivated individual to act as a point of spiritual contact at the Corps, meeting the needs of the Corps / local community and showing them the love of Jesus.To provide ongoing pastoral and spiritual support to members of the community and volunteers.To identify pastoral/practical needs and provide appropriate care and support. You facilitate the Corps community programme, which includes Parent & Toddler Group, Community Café & Bible Study.You will actively promote health & safety and safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children in all elements of the programme, including maintaining risk assessments for programme activities and working within current Salvation Army and statutory guidelines.In consultation with the Corps leadership team and DHQ the post holder will undertake other duties as required for the effective running of the Corps.Successful candidate will have: Experience working with people and a keen interest in supporting our community and building relationships with the people who attend our programmes, as well as with colleagues and volunteers.The willingness to work within the beliefs and ideas of The Salvation Army as outlined in mission, vision and values.This role has an occupational requirement that the successful candidate must be a committed and practising Christian, actively involved with your Church and will be in sympathy with the doctrines of, and supportive of, the purposes and the aims and objectives of The Salvation Army.
