Clinical Leadership and Care Delivery Provide hands-on clinical care, acting as a senior point of support for complex or deteriorating patients. Coordinate daily clinical activity and ensure safe staffing levels, skill mix, and continuity of care. Promote high standards of nursing practice through supervision, coaching, and role modelling. Staff Management and Team Support Allocate and supervise staff during shifts, ensuring responsibilities are clearly defined and patient needs are met. Support the development, appraisal, and competency assessment of junior nurses, HCAs, and students. Contribute to the induction and ongoing development of new staff, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and policies. Governance and Patient Safety Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NMC and organisational standards. Promote compliance with infection prevention, medication safety, safeguarding, and other clinical governance priorities. Report and support investigations of incidents, complaints, and near misses, contributing to a culture of safety and learning. Communication and Multidisciplinary Working Act as a key liaison for patients, families, consultants, and members of the wider multidisciplinary team. Ensure effective communication during handovers, ward rounds, and discharge planning. Foster a collaborative environment that supports respectful teamwork and a positive patient experience. Service Delivery and Operational Oversight Assist with the coordination of admissions, discharges, and patient flow within the department. Support the Clinical Services Manager in meeting departmental targets, maintaining equipment, and managing resources effectively. Contribute to audit, quality improvement, and service evaluation initiatives. Professional Development and Responsibility Maintain NMC registration and demonstrate professional accountability at all times. Keep up to date with clinical best practices, guidelines, and innovations in nursing care. Promote continuous learning and reflective practice within the team. WHAT DO YOU HAVE? Essential: Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration. Significant post-registration experience in an acute or relevant specialty. Experience in leading and supervising a team within a clinical environment. Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and coordination skills. Commitment to high standards of patient care and professional development. Desirable: Mentorship / Practice Assessor qualification. Leadership or management training (or willingness to undertake). Experience in audit, service improvement, or quality assurance projects. Familiarity with private healthcare systems and governance frameworks. WHAT SORT OF PERSON ARE YOU?
