We’re Hiring: 2 Caravan Wardens at Uttoxeter Racecourse!
We’re on the lookout for two reliable, friendly Caravan Wardens to run our caravan site during race weekends at Uttoxeter Racecourse. This is a casual role covering 11 openings throughout the year, based around our weekend fixtures.
2026 Season Dates (each opening = 35 hours over 5 days, with possibilities of overtime if required):
13th – 16th March
27th – 30th March
1st – 4th May
15th – 18th May
22nd – 25th May
12th – 15th June
26th – 29th June
22nd – 25th July
25th – 28th July
2nd – 5th October
13th – 16th November
About the Role of Caravan Warden:
You’ll be responsible for welcoming guests, allocating pitches, keeping the site running smoothly, a friendly face for any visitor queries and ensuring the site is safe and presentable at all times for our customers
As part of the job, you’ll stay on-site during each of the above dates — we’ll provide a pitch, power, and additional facilities for the duration.
What you’ll be doing:
Welcoming guests on arrival, liaising with our onsite security team to ensure a smooth and pleasant welcome and friendly first impression
Managing pitch allocation, directing guests to their designated spaces efficiently
Checking in arrivals, ensuring bookings are correct and answering any initial questions
Maintaining a tidy, well-presented site, including light cleaning, litter checks and general upkeep
Monitoring site safety, keeping an eye out for any issues and reporting them promptly
Daily toilet and laundry room cleaning ensuring facilities are kept to a good standard for our guests
Being a friendly point of contact, assisting visitors with queries or concerns throughout their stay
Providing basic information, such as site rules, racecourse schedules and local amenities
Supporting guests with minor issues, such as power hook-up guidance or site navigation
Ensuring facilities are presentable, flagging any maintenance needs to the team
Completing simple administrative tasks, such as noting arrivals, departures, or incidents
Working closely with your co-steward, sharing duties and communicating effectively
Upholding site standards, ensuring a calm, safe and welcoming environment at all times
Assisting with arrivals and departures at peak times, helping maintain smooth traffic flow
Following racecourse procedures, including emergency and safety protocols
Two people who can work well together and get along (you’ll be sharing duties throughout each weekend)
Friendly, approachable, and confident dealing with the public
Comfortable working outdoors
Organised and dependable
Caravan warden experience is preferred but not essential
Able to commit to the dates above
