Summary

SCTS plays a key role in the administration of justice. We fulfil our purpose by providing the people, buildings and services needed to support the judiciary, the courts, devolved tribunals and OPG. Key Responsibilities



To review and register Powers of Attorney (PoA) made under the provisions of the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000, updating the Public Register.
To process amendments and changes to existing PoA, such as death notifications, substitutes willing to act, revocations, resignations, changes of address, public register searches, requests for duplicate certificates and general mail queries in relation to powers of attorney, linking documentation as appropriate, updating the case management system (PAIGE) and the Public Register accordingly.
To provide information, advice and guidance to enquirers about the legislation and functions of the Public Guardian in relation to PoA and to direct any other enquires accordingly.
Deal appropriately to customer queries.
To maintain records, team logs, statistical sheets and collate other management information as required.
You will have contact with other stakeholders by e-mail, letter, telephone or face to face. You will be required to competently answer queries giving consistent and reliable advice.
Be responsible for own time and management of workload.
To carry out any other reasonable tasks set by line management.
Complete all obligatory e-learning packages within the pre-determined time frames.
To keep own skills and knowledge up to date, where applicable.
Work as a team player and from time to time be involved in team discussions and coaching sessions to achieve best practice within the team.

We will be holding an Open Day at the Office of Public Guardian (OPG) office’s in Falkirk on Tuesday 9th December to provide information about the upcoming roles. We are recruiting for up to 10 Administrative Officers on a fixed term basis. These positions are office-based, starting in mid-January for approximately 3 months, with the possibility of an extension.



Short presentations will take place at 10.15am, 11.00am and 1pm to outline the opportunities that are available.
