Summary

The Role

As part of a proactive early intervention programme, you will work with young people aged 15-25 and vulnerable adults, collaborating with local services to provide targeted support. Your role will involve engaging and identifying individuals and groups at risk to reduce new cases of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), teenage pregnancies, and providing one-on-one support. You will ensure clients are informed about available contraceptive options and sexual health services, promote contraception use, encourage participation in the Condom Card Scheme, and deliver high-quality sexual health education programmes.

The Service

The Young People’s Service is an integral part of the Via treatment network in Redbridge, dedicated to supporting young people and vulnerable adults and promoting sexual health and wellbeing. This includes individuals directly impacted by sexual health concerns, those affected by someone else’s sexual health issues, and the wider community, all aimed at improving overall health and wellbeing.

We provide a comprehensive range of sexual health services, including education, prevention, contraceptive support, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), Condom Card Scheme and psychosocial support interventions. These services are designed to assist young people and vulnerable adults who are seeking advice and/or treatment related to sexual health needs.

Our services are available Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.

Location
London Borough of Redbridge

The role is predominantly based interchangeably between Barkingside and Ilford Chambers, and will involve travel to schools, local pharmacies and satellites within the borough, and to other Via locations as needed.
