We are looking for a Bank Personal Assistant to join our friendly and energetic team who support our adult son. This role will provide cover during staff holidays and sickness, offering the opportunity to work flexibly as part of a close-knit group of regular PAs.

Our son has Down syndrome and cerebral palsy, and he is full of life, fun, and personality. He has a great love for music, drama, and spending time with people, and he’s known for his cheeky sense of humour. As part of the team, you’ll help him make the most of each day, whether that’s getting out and about in the community, enjoying activities he loves, or supporting his daily routines at home.

The role involves providing personal care, assisting with some manual handling, and supporting him with his exercises. We’re looking for someone who is kind, patient, and enthusiastic about helping our son live his life to the fullest.

Duties include:
- Medication prompting/administering
- Personal grooming
- Eating and drinking assistance
- Moving and handling
- Other relevant duties as required
- Administration
- Housekeeping
- Shopping
- Cooking
- Transportation
- Companionship
- Looking after pets
- Dressing / undressing
- Bathroom assistance

Candidate qualities:
- Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
- Reliable with good timekeeping
- Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
- Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
- Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Honest and cheerful
- Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
- Must be comfortable with pets
- Able to always work to high standards of health & safety
- To be self motivated, have a good sense of humour and be a team player
- Makaton would be helpful.
- Previous experience with manual handling

Additional requirements
Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
