Summary
The role
Permanent - Full-time - 39 hours per week
Based at our Distribution Centre in Kendal, 5 days a week
This is an exciting and very varied role to take responsibility of all aspects of Health and Safety and Facilities within our Kendal Distribution Centre.
You will build a safety first culture and ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority. You will be supporting the Group Facilities Manager and Health and Safety Lead.
Your role will be based in Kendal at our Distribution Centre, ensuring the operation remains compliant with all relevant legislation for Health and Safety.
You will be a lead member of the Health and Safety Committee.
You will be the on-site contact for maintenance engineers to ensure they are able to smoothly and efficiently carry out scheduled work - ensuring Contractors adhere to relevant site rules, work safely and in line with their relevant Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
We're looking for somebody that has a constant, engaging and challenging presence on site to ensure that Health and Safety at all levels of the DC is understood as everyone's responsibility.
About you
You'll have excellent knowledge of UK and Health and Safety legislation within a warehouse or a similar environment.
You must have knowledge of Health and Safety systems and incident management processes.
You will be required to interpret and implement legislation into a warehouse environment without significantly impacting operational practices at the site and report on it.
You must manage and maintain in a timely and accurate way the DC Health and Safety systems.
Your communication is key - you'll be clear and you'll make sure your message is understood both verbally and written, with excellent attention to detail.
