Summary
A caring and supportive personal assistant is required for a happy and lively 9-year-old boy living in the Truro area.
He is autistic, with ADHD and no vision, and he would like someone who he can build up a positive relationship with and provide him with some 1:1 support.
He would like someone to support him with his mobility in the community and at home. He loves being outdoors. His interests are swimming, trampolining and being as active as possible as he loves to burn off energy.
Your support will enable him to enjoy activities in his local community both with and without his family as he gains more confidence.
This is a rewarding opportunity to help a young person grow and achieve greater independence while making a positive impact on their life.
The role is part-time, with 9 hours per week available, although this is very flexible. Weekend and school holiday availability will be required.
The hourly rate is £13.00, plus mileage allowance.
Car driver preferred but not essential.
Experience or knowledge of working with young people with SEND is essential.
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
