Crynodeb
A caring and supportive personal assistant is required for an outgoing, energetic teenage girl living in the Liskeard area. She has social interaction barriers and can present challenging behaviours in times of crisis, and she would like someone who she can build up a positive relationship with and provide her with 1:1 support. She would like someone to support her with her communication and social skills out in the community.
She loves being in the ocean and is a keen surfer. Her interests are skateboarding, surfing and cooking.
Your support will enable her to explore the local area, enjoy more social opportunities, and establish an engaging routine, gaining independence away from her family.
9 hours per week are available, although this is very flexible.
Good rate of pay at £12.60 per hour, plus local mileage expenses.
Car driver with business class insurance preferred but not essential.
Experience or knowledge of working with young people with SEND is essential.
A driving licence and access to your own vehicle, having business use insurance, is also preferable.
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family, and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All offers of employment will be subject to the successful candidate undertaking an enhanced DBS check, the administration process will be undertaken by Cornwall Council.
If you would like to apply for this role, please send your CV. Alternatively, you can request an application form.
Your CV or application form will be passed onto the family for their consideration. Due to the high number of applicants that are received for various roles, it is not possible to inform applicants if they have been unsuccessful.
Please apply by emailing a copy of your CV and quoting the reference code AHDP/1163 to: cypdirectpayments@cornwall.gov.uk
Please note, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
