The Opportunity:
Long Term Futures are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant with a strong English background to support pupils across KS3/KS4 in the Enfield area. This role is perfect for someone passionate about literacy, language, and helping pupils develop strong communication skills. You'll be supporting a wide array of learners while promoting confidence in reading, writing, and spoken English. You'll be joining a very well-established school and team who are committed to creating an inclusive, engaging learning environment.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group literacy support, including reading, phonics, and writing activities
- Assist pupils with varying SEND needs, adapting English tasks to suit individual learning styles
- Support behavioural, emotional, and social development within the classroom
- Help deliver targeted English interventions to boost literacy progress
- Assist in creating engaging, structured, and inclusive English learning experiences alongside the teacher
- Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents, promoting a positive learning culture
- Work collaboratively with teachers to monitor progress and tailor support
Requirements:
- Background in English is preferred
- Previous experience supporting pupils or working in an educational environment (SEN desirable)
- Strong communication, literacy, and behaviour management skills
- Enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to inclusive education
- Understanding of Safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
