Summary
To work as a key member of the Local Access Point to ensure professionals are able to make referrals through one single point of access To offer sound clinical advice that overseas entry into the service To provide high quality, clinical triage using knowledge, skills and critical thinking and professional judgement To control and manage calls effectively by using skilled questioning, active listening and excellent verbal communication skills in a calm, professional manner Identify and report any case of suspected or confirmed abuse to an individual, in accordance with agreed guidance and procedure. Work as a member of the nursing team in conjunction with other professionals to promote seamless patient care. Be personally accountable for professional and ethical actions and omissions in compliance with the NMC Code of Conduct. Be prepared to work flexibly, in the interests of self-development and exigencies of the service. To actively participate in the on-going development of the role and support the development of the protocols and processes within the service. To possess the ability to prioritise tasks, cases and situations appropriately to ensure effective delivery during periods of high demand. To liaise and communicate clinical information verbally and/or via technical links to healthcare partners to ensure continuity of care for the caller To refer any issue or concerns outside the scope of post holders responsibility or professional registration promptly to the Operational Lead/Manager.
