We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated experienced secretary to join our friendly administration team.

The post holder will be required to perform general secretarial and administration duties.

You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively under pressure.

This is a permanent post working 22.5 hours per week 9:30am - 2pm Monday to Friday.

All candidates will be required to evidence their certificates to the interview panel.

The vacancy may be closed early if a high volume of applications is received.

The Secretary will be responsible for providing administrative and secretarial support to the SSDU / ERU Management Team, whilst assisting colleagues to meet the departmental needs of the service.

We are offering you the opportunity to become part of our dynamic friendly team at the Sterile Services Decontamination Unit (SSDU) Lostock, Bolton as the Department's Secretary.

SSDU provides a comprehensive service to operating theatres, wards/departments and community centres throughout both Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust and Salford Royal Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a vital service that is a major link in the health care chain.

The post holder will provide administrative and secretarial support to the SSDU / ERU Management Team.

• To handle all incoming mail and to take appropriate action where necessary, also to ensure outgoing mail is dispatched in a timely manner.
• To undertake the typing and distribution of general correspondence such as letters, memos, reports, email and faxes as required.
• Liaise with other agencies and Trust Staff as and when necessary.
• Answer telephone queries and provide information for the department
• Photocopying as requested/required.
• Provide secretarial cover to the department as and when necessary.
• Collate requested information for SSDU / ERU Management Team.
