Part time - 20 hours, 10am – 2pm, Monday to Friday
Fixed-term position to cover maternity leave. The anticipated duration is approximately 12 months, but this may vary depending on the post-holder’s return
date.
Main Purpose of the Job
To provide efficient and effective support to the corporate management functions of the Council and the Town Clerk.
Summary of Responsibilities and Duties of the Job
- Receive visitors and enquiries to the Council Offices in person, by email and by telephone and provide information and/or assistance or refer to the member of staff with designated responsible for the area of the enquiry.
- Operate a computer in word processing tasks, spread sheets, maintaining records and setting up new systems, if required.
- Manage the booking of the meeting rooms: the Fleur de Lys and the Member’s room.
- Order stationery for the office, James West Community Centre, Youth Service and Post Office.
- Order hygiene products such as toilet rolls and cleaning products for the office, public toilets, James West Community Centre, Youth Service, Post Office, Maurice Thornton Pavilion, Southview Community Rooms and the Cemetery.
- Assist generally in any area of the Council’s work as required.
- Dependent on personal skills the post holder may possess, the Senior Management Team, at their discretion, may allocate specific duties or responsibilities.
