Role Overview
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving sales performance, developing new business opportunities, and supporting the overall commercial growth of the store. This role requires a proactive, customer-focused leader who can build strong relationships, motivate the team, and identify new avenues for revenue generation within the local area.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Growth
Drive sales performance in the store by actively engaging with customers about Vodafone products, services, and promotional offers.
Develop new business opportunities by approaching local small businesses, organisations, and community groups.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with local firms to encourage repeat business and ongoing partnerships.
Review daily, weekly, and monthly sales results to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Team Management & Support
Support sales staff and colleagues by providing training, coaching, and innovative sales ideas.
Lead by example to foster a positive sales culture and ensure high levels of customer service across the team.
Customer Experience & Issue Resolution
Handle complex or challenging customer issues in a calm, professional, and solution-focused manner.
Ensure all interactions reflect Vodafone’s brand values and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Market Awareness & Compliance
Monitor competitor activity to stay informed of market trends, pricing, and promotional strategies.
Ensure all administrative tasks—including paperwork, customer records, and contract details—are accurate, compliant, and up to date.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in sales, business development, or account management (preferably in telecommunications or retail).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
Excellent leadership qualities with experience supporting or managing sales teams.
Ability to analyse sales data and convert insights into actionable plans.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle challenging situations professionally.
Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
