Find out more about us here. Our vibrant services in Wigan and Leigh provide support to people concerned about their own or someone else's alcohol or drug use. We have services in both Wigan and Leigh but much of our work is carried out in the local communities we serve. Check out what our sites have to offer here. The postholder will provide a range of health and wellbeing and harm reduction interventions to service users, in accordance with the agreed model of service delivery. As part of this role, you will plan, coordinate and support appropriate detoxification from drugs and/or alcohol, assessing the needs of service users and implementing and evaluating care plans. It will be vital for you to develop strong and positive relationships with key stakeholders and commissioners for the continuity of service, as well as leading on providing community detoxification programmes, clinics and groups. Essential Skills We'll be excited to see evidence of the following in your application: A compassionate and motivated nurse, with current NMC registration and the ability to connect quickly with the people we support, treating them respectfully and with dignity Organisation skills and the ability to manage your time effectively Sound experience of comprehensive assessment of need, including risk assessments and be able to implement and evaluate patient care and act accordingly if untoward changes occur Working knowledge of substance misuse and an independent prescribing qualification would be advantageous, but we are open to conversations with all suitably qualified applicants Above all, we are looking for someone who is passionate about what we do, with a positive and engaging approach to our service users.
