Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: Monday to Sunday, 12:00–20:00, working every other weekend. When working a weekend, you will receive two days off during the week.​

We are seeking a dedicated and organised Domestic Supervisor to manage a floor comprising 5–6 wards and lead a team of approximately 15 front-line cleaning staff.​

This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of an effective and efficient domestic service within a healthcare environment.

You will be responsible for day-to-day operations, including auditing, staff supervision, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and compliance.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have a strong background in cleaning services, proven supervisory experience in a similar setting (such as healthcare or education), and basic computer skills.​

You will be confident in managing people, liaising with clients and staff, and handling administrative tasks.​

Key Responsibilities

Ensure the provision of an effective and efficient domestic service under the direction of the Domestic Services Manager / Facilities Manager.

Maintain clear and effective communication within the Domestic Department.

Participate in staff-related processes, including recruitment, sickness absence management, training, induction, and appraisals.

Promote fair and consistent supervision and discipline, supporting grievance and disciplinary procedures where required.

Organise and complete quality control inspections in conjunction with ward and departmental managers.

Maintain accurate staff records, work rotas, bonus documentation, and monitoring paperwork.

Handle staff queries professionally, authorise holidays, and arrange cover in line with departmental policies.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Previous supervisory experience in a similar setting (e.g healthcare or school setting).

Strong cleaning background and understanding of hygiene standards.

Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication.

Excellent people skills and ability to liaise with clients and staff effectively.
