Role Overview
The AutoCAD Technician will support our Building Surveying team in producing accurate technical drawings and documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of building construction, surveying principles, and proficiency in AutoCAD software.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out measured building surveys.
Prepare detailed 2D drawings for building surveys, plans, and specifications using AutoCAD.
Interpret survey data and translate it into accurate technical drawings.
Assist surveyors in preparing design layouts, floor plans, elevations, and sections.
Ensure drawings comply with industry standards, building regulations, and company guidelines.
Maintain and update drawing records and project documentation.
Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, and project managers to deliver high-quality outputs within deadlines.
Support site visits when required to gather measurements and verify details.
Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years’ experience as an AutoCAD Technician in the Building Surveying or construction industry.
Proficient in 2D AutoCAD as a minimum.
Strong spatial awareness and the ability to interpret and present complex 3D environments in a 2D capacity.
Good understanding of building construction, surveying terminology, and technical standards.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate drawings.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Desirable
An understanding of topographical surveying principles.
Experience with planning applications or the planning process.
Experience with BIM software and 3D modelling advantageous.
Knowledge of UK building regulations and standards.
Relevant qualifications in CAD.
