Greenbank Preparatory School and Day Nursery is expanding its early years provision, and we are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Worker Bee Room Supervisor to help lead this exciting new stage of our Nursery development.
As Room Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth transitions for children moving from the Busy Bees Room into the Worker Bees Room, and onwards into Preschool. You will help create a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment where every child feels supported, valued and encouraged to explore.

Key Responsibilities

Room Leadership & Daily Organisation

Oversee the day-to-day running of the Worker Bees Room within the Preschool setting.
Work closely with the Nursery and Preschool Managers to support smooth transitions between age groups.
Ensure a welcoming, positive atmosphere for all children and families.
Maintain high standards of care, safeguarding and wellbeing at all times.

Child Development & Key Person Duties

Act as key person for a group of children, building strong, trusting relationships with them and their families.
Carry out regular observations to inform next steps in learning and development.
Produce annual progress reports and share updates with parents.
Attend parents’ evenings and communicate effectively with families.

Planning & Learning Environment

Plan and deliver open-ended, engaging activities that meet individual needs and inspire curiosity.
Support children to develop independence, confidence and strong foundations for future learning.
Manage behaviour positively, using supportive and consistent strategies.
Maintain a clean, safe learning environment, checking resources regularly for hazards or damage.

Professional Conduct & Teamwork

Work collaboratively with the wider Early Years team.
Follow all Nursery and Preschool policies and procedures.
Attend monthly staff meetings, training sessions, open mornings and Friends of Greenbank events.
Take part in personal development reviews/appraisals.
Raise any concerns regarding children’s care or education with the Nursery Managers or Senior Leadership Team.
Uphold confidentiality and act as a positive role model for staff and children.

What We’re Looking For

A warm, enthusiastic practitioner with a passion for early years.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Experience in planning child-led, open-ended activities.
A commitment to high-quality care and safeguarding.
Confidence supporting children through transitions and developmental milestones.

If you are ready to take the next step in your early years career and help shape this exciting extension to our provision, we would love to hear from you.
