A well-known, reputable and award-winning public-sector employer in Manchester is seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to join their team.
Your new role
The Procurement Officer will be responsible for delivering best practice procurement which delivers optimal value for money for stakeholders across services, works and goods. Working closely with Category Managers, you will support with the overall category strategy, and you'll provide procurement guidance and advice to internal and external customers. As Procurement Officer, you will have responsibility for your own procurement projects, including managing the end-to-end tender process under the new Procurement Act, where applicable. You will also manage suppliers' performance against contractual obligations, and will manage relationships with suppliers and other key stakeholders.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous procurement experience within a public sector organisation
- Working knowledge of PA23 (or at least PCR2015)
- Experience in the end-to-end procurement process from specification, to tendering, to contract management
- Experience of analysing spend data and savings data
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and comfortable producing reports for senior stakeholders
- Ideally, you will be CIPS qualified, or working towards
