Summary
Stepgates is a forward-thinking, well-resourced mainstream primary school with a Specialist Centre for 29 children with speech, language, and communication needs. We pride ourselves on creating an inclusive, nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant with a strong Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) focus to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our youngest learners during this crucial stage of their development.
About the Role
• Start Date: As soon as possible
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 3:15pm
• Focus: Supporting children in Nursery and Reception classes, with flexibility to work across the school as needed.
• Contract: 1 Year Fixed Term with a view to becoming permanent, subject to budget constraints. Term-time plus 3 Inset Days.You will play a key role in fostering curiosity, independence, and a love of learning in our EYFS settings. Experience in a primary setting and knowledge of Special Educational Needs (SEN) are desirable. What We’re Looking For • A good general education (English and Maths grade C or above, or equivalent)
• Understanding of child development and the physical, emotional, social, and educational needs of young children
• Ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents
• Patience, resilience, and a calm approach under pressure
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
