Summary

Raysfield Primary School are pleased to announce that we are opening a new nursery provision ‘Little Rays’ from September 2025. The nursery will be open from 7:30 – 3:30, term time only.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated early years practitioner to join the early years team in our new nursery class - this is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of Little Rays alongside the class teacher and early years team.
At Little Rays @ Raysfield Primary School we understand the unique qualities in every child and our vision is to ensure our nursery is an enjoyable and positive experience for all children in our care. Our brand-new, purpose-built classroom has access to outstanding resources and learning opportunities, with the outside area being an extension of the classroom.
You will be responsible for creating a safe, stimulating and caring environment for the children at Little Rays. You must demonstrate a sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum with experience in implementing it in the early years setting. You will be responsible for helping to develop basic social and emotional skills; and engaging the children in a range of different play activities.
You will be working under the guidance of the class teacher and will support them in observing, monitoring, assessing and supporting individual children’s learning and development. The ideal candidate will be able to foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, ensuring every child receives the support and encouragement they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
- Work in partnership with the EYFS team
- Support the nursery team in the delivery of a creative and stimulating curriculum
- Meet the children’s developmental, educational and care needs
- Provide a warm, welcoming and supportive environment to the children
- Provide high-quality learning activities throughout the nursery on a day-to-day basis
- Maintain a high standard of care for the children and actively promote and support the safeguarding of children, ensuring the relevant policies and procedures are observed at all times
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with parents and the local community
We are looking to recruit an early years practitioner who:
- has a minimum NVQ Level 3 Childcare qualification
- has experience in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and has a passion for early childhood education
- is able to work as part of a team
- is willing to adapt practice and be flexible, especially within the first year of setting up the provision.
- is able to work alongside families as a knowledgeable and trusted member of Raysfield team
