Hays Recruitment is proud to be supporting a Northwich-based and highly regarded mainstream high school as they are looking to appoint a motivated and experienced teaching assistant to support a year 7 pupil on a 1:1 basis that has recently joined the school. The pupil you will be supporting is an extremely bright and loving individual with an ASD diagnosis and an EHCP. Unfortunately, they are struggling with the new routine and are finding difficult adjusting to a new school setting. You will provide comprehensive 1:1 support throughout the school day, picking up on trigger points and implementing positive behaviour strategies before escalation, assisting with regulation techniques, and interventions and boosters in all core subjects. Other duties will include:
- Accurately tracking and recording pupil progress towards EHCP and learning journey
- Giving accurate feedback and input during assessment meetings
- Liaising with parents/guardians
- Integrating into new pupil groups
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK, be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check, at least 40 days referenceable classroom experience within the last 2 years, and:
- Experience supporting SEN (moderate ASC is advantageous)
- Good knowledge of the KS3 national curriculum
- Be able to commit to a full-time contract (32.5 hours per week)
