Job Title: Band 5 Endoscopy Staff Nurse Department: Endoscopy Unit Salary: Depends on experience Hours: 37.5 hours per week, rota-based with on-call participation, Monday to Friday Contract: 12 Months Fixed-Term Contract The Role We are seeking an experienced Endoscopy Nurse to join our highly skilled team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a busy, patient-focused service that provides exceptional care across the full endoscopy pathway, from pre-assessment and procedures to recovery and safe discharge. You will use your specialist endoscopy knowledge and clinical expertise to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care. This hands-on role requires confidence to rotate across all areas of the unit, with opportunities to support service development and mentor junior colleagues. This role is based on an internal rotation contract, working a variety of shift patterns between Monday and Friday, 07:30 to 20:00. About us The London Clinic Endoscopy Unit is a JAG accredited service that delivers a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy and specialist interventions. Our consultants are recognised leaders in their fields and our nursing team plays a central role in ensuring patient safety, comfort and dignity throughout every stage of the pathway. Key Duties Deliver safe and effective nursing care across all areas of the Endoscopy Unit Support patients and their families through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery Supervise and mentor junior staff, students, and HCAs Administer medications and assist with specimens and biopsies Participate in the Endoscopy on-call service Ensure compliance with infection prevention and health and safety policies Contribute to audit, research, and continuous quality improvement initiatives Skills and Experience Registered Nurse (NMC) Proven endoscopy nursing experience is essential Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure A collaborative, flexible, and caring approach with a commitment to patient-centred care Willingness to rotate through all areas of the Endoscopy Unit and participate in on-call duties Why join us The London Clinic is one of the UKs most respected independent hospitals.
