Summary
I am a 16 year old young man who loves music, attending the cinema, bowling, local clubs, exhibitions, museums and being out in nature and going walks. I also love socialising whilst enjoying a hot chocolate and treats.
As my Personal Assistant your role is to enable me to be independent, supporting me to achieve my potential, build friendships, and take part in activities to increase my social interaction opportunities. You would act as my chaperone in social situations and support me to participate in all activities of daily living by supporting me to manage my personal care, keep me safe and encourage me to carry out activities inside the home. Such as domestic chores like cooking and fun activities like arts and crafts.
The ideal match would be someone who is outgoing, fun and confident and has experience in care or supporting young people although this is not essential. This role suits someone who is comfortable supporting someone in their daily life; including in personal hygiene, eating and moving around -even if you haven’t done a similar role before. This role will require moving and assisting so the PA must be physically fit. The right person for this role will be someone who I can relate to, who can enthusiastically engage in the activities I enjoy. I am also open to new activities and opportunities you may bring to the role.
You’ll be part of a wider support network and will work alongside other PAs at times so communication and teamwork are important.
This role is based in Milngavie, so you must be able to travel to and from the area reliably.
This role is for 6 hours per week on Tuesday’s & Thursday’s 4-7pm. Plus ad hoc support during school holidays, evenings and weekends including Saturdays 9am-2pm. Any ad hoc support would be agreed at least a month in advance.
Rate of pay £17.50 per hour paid 4 weekly
A driving license is preferred to help with transport, but this isn’t essential.
PVG Scheme Membership or Scheme Update required by successful applicant
Please note successful candidates will be expected to cover the cost of the PVG Membership or Update.
