An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Course Leader: GCSE Maths to join our high performing maths team reporting to our Curriculum Manager.

As Course Leader: Functional Maths with Redcar and Cleveland College you will be responsible for a variety of key responsibilities that are crucial to the success of students and the department:

Curriculum Development and Instruction: Design and implement engaging and effective maths curricula. Deliver high-quality lessons that cater to a diverse range of learning needs and styles.
Student Assessment and Progress Tracking: Regularly assess student progress through appropriate methods, providing timely and constructive feedback. Monitor and analyse performance data to adjust teaching strategies and interventions as needed.
Team Leadership and Staff Development: Lead a team of maths teachers, fostering a collaborative environment to enhance teaching practices.
Student Support and Guidance: Offer academic and emotional support to students, helping them overcome educational barriers.
Liaison and Collaboration: Work closely with other course leaders to align educational goals across subjects.
Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure that all teaching practices and curricula meet awarding body standards and college policies. Participate in inspections and contribute to the college’s self-evaluation processes.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate their strong knowledge of the Functional maths curriculum and be able to lead by example in relation to innovative and engaging teaching approaches.

Previous course leadership is preferred but is not essential. You will need to be able to demonstrate a significant passion for student success in maths and have the ability to engage a range of students through your varied pedological approaches. Schedule

Monday – Thursday (8.30am – 5.00pm) and Friday (8.30am – 4.30pm)
