Freelance Engineering Surveyor Opportunity

Are you an experienced Engineering Surveyor looking for flexible freelance opportunities? We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team on various exciting civil engineering and infrastructure projects.

About the Role

This is a project-based freelance position requiring expertise in delivering high-accuracy surveys essential for construction and monitoring. You will be responsible for a full range of surveying duties from initial site control setup through to final as-built verification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establishment and Maintenance of Survey Control: Setting up and managing precise site control networks using total stations, GNSS, and digital leveling equipment.

  • Grid Mapping and Layout: Performing detailed grid mapping for large-scale setting-out operations, ensuring all construction elements are precisely positioned according to design coordinates.

  • Dimensional Control: Carrying out pre-pour checks, structural monitoring, and installation checks to maintain dimensional accuracy throughout the construction phases.

  • Motorway Monitoring and Setting Out: Executing specialized tasks including high-precision monitoring on motorway target shots to detect movement in adjacent structures, and performing accurate setting out for highway infrastructure (e.g., bridge abutments, drainage).

  • Data Processing and Reporting: Processing raw survey data, producing accurate topographical drawings, volumetric calculations, and detailed survey reports.

  • Collaboration: Working closely with site managers, engineers, and construction crews to ensure smooth project progression.

Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience as an Engineering Surveyor on civil engineering, infrastructure, or construction projects.

  • Proficiency with modern surveying equipment (e.g., Leica, Trimble Total Stations, GNSS).

  • Strong understanding of survey principles, coordinate systems, and transformation parameters.

  • Competence in survey data processing software (e.g., LSS, AutoCAD Civil 3D).

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Valid relevant certifications and necessary insurances (e.g., CSCS, Public Liability).

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
