Then this could be the role for you, Buckinghamshire College Group is looking for a confident and experienced Inclusion Mentor

Role Overview: As an Inclusion Mentor, you will provide targeted support for students with an Educational Health and Care Plan who may be at risk of non-engagement due to various factors such as behaviour, well-being or attitude, which can impact their attendance.

Your goal is to be trauma-responsive and to enhance student engagement through co-regulation and self-regulation strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to a Positive and Inclusive Ethos: Actively foster a welcoming and supportive environment that acknowledges and respects the diverse experiences of all students.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with curriculum teams, SEND support team, and other key staff to ensure effective and trauma-informed provision for students.
  • Implement and Monitor Support Plans: Partner with others to create and execute personalised, trauma-sensitive action plans for "at risk" students.
  • Develop Mentoring Relationships: Establish 1:1 and group mentoring relationships that are built on trust and understanding, helping students achieve their individual goals through co-regulation and self-regulation strategies.
  • Personalise Support: Liaise with teaching staff to tailor trauma-informed support, facilitate small group work
  • Monitor and Support: Ensure "at risk" students are in class and learning effectively, providing trauma-responsive support in small groups
