Summary

Neway International are seeking a Senior Practitioner (SP – 4yrs+ experience) to join our client Birmingham Children’s Trust, based at One Avenue.

Location: One Avenue, Birmingham Hours: 37 per week (08:45 – 17:15) Start Date: 09/12/2025 End Date: 27/02/2026 Pay Rates: £24.52 PAYE / £33.30 Umbrella IR35

The Role
As a Senior Practitioner within the Child in Care Team, you will manage cases transferred from initial hearings, holding care proceedings and supporting children across the North and West Central areas of Birmingham. This is a hybrid role, with office days on Mondays and Tuesdays, and flexibility to balance remote and office-based work. You will receive high levels of support while working in a team that values collaboration and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
Manage complex caseloads within the Child in Care Team.

Hold care proceedings and ensure statutory requirements are met.

Provide high-quality assessments, care planning, and interventions.

Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.

Contribute to the Trust’s commitment to safeguarding and improving children’s lives.

Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with legislation and guidance.

Candidate Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with registration to practice in the UK.

Minimum of 4 years’ post-qualified experience in children’s social care.

Strong knowledge of care proceedings and child protection legislation.

Excellent communication, assessment, and case management skills.

Ability to work flexibly in a hybrid environment.

Commitment to safeguarding and improving outcomes for children and families.
