Are you passionate about delivering outstanding customer service? Do you enjoy helping others and working in a dynamic environment? We are looking for a friendly and proactive Customer Excellence Assistant to join our team at the University of Southampton Sport

About the Role

As a Customer Excellence Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors. You’ll provide information, support, and guidance in person, over the phone, and via email. Your role will be vital in ensuring everyone receives a warm welcome and the highest standard of service.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet and assist customers, ensuring a positive first impression.
Provide information and signpost enquiries to the right services.
Accurately maintain records and use computer systems to support daily tasks.
Handle card payments and reconcile transactions.
Support customers throughout their journey, from initial enquiry to resolution.
Work as part of a team to meet objectives and promote active, healthy lifestyles.
Uphold University policies and contribute to a culture of excellence.
What We’re Looking For:

Experience in a busy customer service environment.
Good IT skills (e.g., Microsoft Office).
Ability to communicate clearly and handle enquiries professionally.
A team player who can also work independently.
Willingness to learn and adapt.
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
Commitment to upholding our values of collegiality, quality, and inclusivity.
Our Customer Excellence Assistants work on a rota to ensure excellent service is provided throughout the week. Here’s an example shift pattern, working 36 hours per week:

Week 1:

Monday to Wednesday: 09:00 – 17:30
Thursday and Friday: 06:30 – 14:30
Weekend: Off
Week 2:

Monday to Wednesday: 14:30 – 22:30
Thursday and Friday: Off
Weekend: 06:30 – 15:00
Week 3:

Monday to Friday: 12:00 – 20:30
Weekend: Off
(Shifts may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends. Flexibility is essential.)
