Our client, a respected educational institution in Mickleover, Derby, is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-time SEND Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to reach their full potential and thrive in their academic journey.
- Work closely with the classroom teacher to provide individualised support to students with SEND, ensuring they can access the curriculum and engage in learning activities effectively
- Adapt and differentiate learning materials to meet the specific needs of each student, promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities for all
- Foster a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, builds self-esteem, and promotes social and emotional well-being
- Collaborate with the SEND coordinator and other professionals to develop and implement personalised learning plans, monitor progress, and provide regular feedback to parents and guardians
- Assist with the planning and delivery of small group or one-to-one interventions, focusing on key areas such as literacy, numeracy, and social skills development
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, behaviour, and achievements, contributing to the overall assessment and reporting process
- Provide essential support during break times, lunch times, and extracurricular activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students
- Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest SEND practices and strategies
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience working with children with SEND
- Proven experience supporting students with a range of special educational needs, such as autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and specific learning difficulties
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with students who may present challenging behaviours
- Proficiency in using technology to support learning and adapt materials
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students

Our client offers a competitive salary range of £89.00 - £96.00 per day, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The part-time nature of this role allows for flexibility and a healthy work-life balance.
