Summary
Remedy Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 4 Academic Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Lewisham. This rewarding role focuses on supporting pupils who require additional help to reach their full potential through targeted group intervention work.
As a key member of the Year 4 team, you will work closely with the class teacher to plan, deliver, and assess small group sessions aimed at boosting confidence and attainment among lower-ability pupils in core subjects such as English and Maths.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver structured intervention sessions to small groups of Year 4 pupils.
- Support pupils in developing key literacy and numeracy skills.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher to monitor progress and adapt learning plans.
- Provide a nurturing and supportive environment that encourages positive learning behaviours.
- Assist with general classroom support when required.
Requirements
- Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in KS2.
- A relevant qualification (Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Education Studies, or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
- Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, proactive, and encouraging approach to supporting learning.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
