As a result, alongside several consortium partners; Balfour Beatty have been selected by bp (British Petroleum) to construct a first-of-a-kind fully integrated gas-fired power station with carbon capture and storage which is a key driving force behind plans to make Teesside the UK’s first decarbonised industrial cluster.
Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic Commercial Administrator to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project based at our site in Redcar and Cleveland.
What you'll be doing
Will ideally have experience of the construction industry and a track record of performing commercial duties. They will support more experienced members of the commercial team in the undertaking of commercial administrative duties such as subcontractor administration, change management and other commercially related administration tasks.
Governance
• Complies with the Company’s governance requirements
Commercial Administration
• Orders information and systematically checks data
• Measure, record & value work unsupervised in accordance with appropriate rules
and procedures
• Review weekly and monthly section programmes of works
• Plan commercial activities to meet requirements of section programmes
• Measure & interpret specifications & drawings
• Build up estimates from first principle including net and gross estimates
• Translate measurement from drawings and Specifications and prepare Bills of Quantities and Schedules of rates
• Use the company’s ERP System and embraces LEAN/digital opportunities
• Collation of Cost and Value Information
• Preparation of Cost reconciliation statements
• Measurement of works and agreements with subcontractors
Procurement
• Collect information required to specify procurement requirements
• Record and document information including registration of interest
• Understand the steps / documentation required
Who we're looking for
The following qualifications or their equivalent are essential:
• HNC/HND/NVQ or experiential equivalent
• CCSC Card (Academically or Professionally Qualified Person)
